Labor for the Lord was a success again this year. (As you may know, we took on significant service projects the last three Labor Day weekends at St. James Lutheran Church.) We had 16 volunteers all or part of the day, and we transported about 20 boxes of food over to the Quakertown Food Pantry. Here’s Suzanne’s update on our service efforts:
Hello All,
Two bits of good news.
First our offering to the Liberty Center for Victims
of Torture was $121. I sent It off last week.Second our food drive at Boyers grocery store for the
Quakertown Food Pantry on Saturday was a big success.
We took three car loads of food and some cash
donations to the pantry. The shelves are a lot less
empty. The group’s president Donna Berger and manager
Mary Mack were thrilled and send thanks to you all.
Hopefully we will have a picture or two up soon.Again thank you to all who participated both of these
efforts. God’s love got spread just a little bit
farther!
Suzanne
OK, here are more pictures:
And from our previous Food Pantry work day at Giant:
Sunday, Sept. 16, our worship gathering will be at 3 p.m. at the big room of United Friends School )1018 W. Broad St., Quakertown, PA 18951). We’ll have the band together, and we’ll look at Luke 15:1-10, the twin parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. Worship will be kid friendly, and we’ll have a supervised activity for children. We’ll be in a cool space that once was the sanctuary of a former church that is now part of the school. This should be a great time of worship and fellowship, and there’s room for everyone. If you’re able to help with setup or cleanup, or with prayer stations, contact Bob at 267.377.7192 ASAP.
This Friday, Sept. 7, we’re on a modified schedule. We’ll meet at Fishers’ at 7:30 p.m. for dessert and worship (no supper). We’ll try to start right at 7:30 and not go too late. We’ll have prayer and praise and time for fellowship. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
Questions? Directions? Call Bob at 267.377.7192.
