Labor for the Lord lives!

One of our fun ideas from St. James was Labor for the Lord. We shortened our worship on Sunday of Labor Day weekend so that we could go out and do service in various areas of the community. [C*A*L] is continuing that tradition this year, collecting food for the Quakertown Food Pantry on Saturday, Sept. 1.

Here’s the info Suzanne sent out. If you can help out, we’d love to have you!

Hey everyone,

Labor for the Lord, one of the best brain storms we
ever had will continue!!

Sat. Sept 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Boyer’s Food
Market Quakertown. We will be collecting food stuff
for the Quakertown Food Pantry. And YES WE WILL BE
RIGHT BY THE DOOR AND IN THE SHADE! We will also be
able to interact with people.

For all of you who helped with last Saturday’s event,
Mary Mack sends a big thank you. She was sorry it was
such a non-event. However the collection at Boyer’s
should be better if nothing else because be will be
right by the doors of the store. (She was also happy
to see so many kids with us)

This will be our event with basically just US doing
running the event.

We will have two-hour shifts: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 11
a.m. to 1  and noon to 1 p.m. the over lapping shift
can help transport food to the pantry and stock
shelves — a never ending job.

I have a table, bring chairs. The Pantry will supply
hand outs. We will need signs and collecting boxes.

Anyone interest in making either of these?

Please let me know if you are interested in helping
and what shift works for you.

Because we have not found a location for the Friday
night gathering on Aug. 31. The act of service may
take the place of it.
